| Sidemen Area
Sidemen is home
to one of Bali's most picturesque and photogenic valleys.
The spectacular back roads that lead to this temperate
region take you through traditional villages where day-to
day life has changed little in centuries. Don't forget to
bring your camera, for some of the most spectacular photo
opportunities in Bali. The trekking in Sidemen is
perhaps the best in Bali, and the star-filled nights hum
with the sound of cicadas and crickets. Don't worry about
traffic - there isn't any - yet! You can also try a local
fruit called Salak, which is indigeinous to this area. Salak
is sweet and delicious when it is in season, and its shell
resembles snake-skin.
Still remarkably
unspoiled, Sideman has a charming traditional culture and
produces some of Bali's finest textiles, hand woven cloths
called Endek. Some of these elaborately crafted cloths,
called Kain Songket, are woven with silver and gold thread
and are suitable for museums and collectors.
Sacred
Mountain Sanctuary
Located
in Sidemen village, about 2,5 hours drive from the Ngurah
Rai International Airport, The Sacred Mountain Sanctuary
is situated in the central of ricefields of Sidemen.
This is a perfect place to escape yourself from the
real world ( and you can write your own book well in
this place). |
